The recycling of sawdust: going green and clean

LIKE Zambia and all over Africa are becoming more aware of climate change and the effect, a number of innovative ways that are being initiated and carried out to reduce the devastating effects on the environment.

One of them is the recycling of sawdust into the wood briquette, which has a higher energy value than the same quantity of firewood was coming from.

Briquettes, which almost led to the burning behaviour of coal, it can be used instead of coal or wood stoves in solid domestic as well as in industrial furnaces such as those in mine.

In developed countries, it is being recycled and are considered as a way to reduce the amount of waste in order to save the cost of storage and transport of goods.

Sawdust is considered to be waste material in Zambia, which is why there are stacks and stacks of it where timber companies operate throughout the country.
